Hello!

Thanks for taking the time to check out my portfolio page. I’m a data scientist currently working as an analytics consultant at the consulting firm Voyatek.

I got into data science after about four years working as a journalist. To transition careers, I took part in the Flatiron School’s immersive data science and machine learning bootcamp. During the bootcamp, I dedicated my time to learning Python, SQL, data analysis, data visualization, statistical modeling, machine learning, and countless other skills. You can see some of my data science work on GitHub. I’ve also blogged my bootcamp experience here.

As a journalist, I’ve had experience covering cybersecurity, startups, marketing, and other topics. I most recently worked as a reporter at Morning Brew, writing for the Marketing Brew newsletter.

Previously, I was a freelancer and contributing writer with DC Inno, a news website that covers local tech, innovation and entrepreneurship in D.C.

Before that, I worked as an Editorial Fellow at Scoop News Group, primarily reporting on cybersecurity for CyberScoop. I helped expand CyberScoop’s coverage of election security and additionally covered issues like government cybersecurity policy, data breaches, industry news, emerging threats and other topics.

I graduated from George Washington University’s School of Media of Public Affairs in the winter of 2016 with with B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication. I also minored in economics and psychology.

At GW, I wrote for the student newspaper, the GW Hatchet, as well as MediaFile, an online student publication that covers media issues. I also interned at WAMU, D.C.’s public radio station.

You can see examples of my work here. More information about my professional experience can be found here.

When I’m not working, studying, or doomscrolling, I enjoy photography, cycling, rock climbing, and a good crossword puzzle.
